2026 Primitive Tent Camping Information
**(Only for Ultimate Viking Weekend Pass Holders, vendors and volunteers)**
Immerse yourself in the Viking experience with primitive tent camping. Sorry No RV spots available.
Camping Guidelines:
- First-Come, First-Serve: Spots are undefined but must stay within the designated camping area.
- Ultimate Viking Weekend Pass Holder passes must be worn at all times in camping area.
- Due to limited camping space, each ticket holder may bring one tent only. Tents must be 6-person size or smaller. Large group or multi-room tents are not permitted.
- Car camping is not permitted in the general parking lot, off-site parking, or overflow parking. All car camping must take place in the designated camping parking area only.
- Two camping areas will be available: Night Owls (for those staying up later) and Early Birds (for those seeking a quieter night). Please choose your camping area accordingly and respect those around you.
- Check-In/Check-Out:
- Ultimate Viking Weekend Pass Holders: Check-in Friday, June. 12th, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM (prepare for setup after dark if arriving past 9:00 PM). Tent setup is also available Saturday, June 13th, from 9:00 AM–10:00 AM (ONLY for these pass holders) or anytime after 4:30 PM.
*No Early Arrival- Gates will not open until 6:00pm on Friday, June 12th
- Check-out: You must pack up and be off the festival grounds by 5:30 PM on Sunday. You cannot drive up to take down your tent at any time before 4:30 PM on Saturday or Sunday, but you can walk in and take down during this time if needed. We do not encourage this. Alternatively, you can wait until 5:30 PM to drive into the camping area for easier load-out.
- No Vehicles can be parked overnight in general parking outside the gate. No camping setup is allowed between 10:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
- Food & Beverages: You may bring food and non-alcoholic beverages for camping. Please support local food trucks during festival hours.
- Outside alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. Violations, including possession of outside alcohol or illegal drug use, may result in removal from the festival grounds without a refund.
- Firewood: No outside firewood is allowed.
- Restrooms: There are no showers; *outhouse-style restrooms are provided.
- No Electricity for Camping: There is no electricity available for camping use.
- No Wi-Fi or ATMs: There is no Wi-Fi or ATM service on-site.
- Quiet Hours: 11:00pm-7:00am on Friday and Saturday 12:00 AM–7:00 AM.
- Leave No Trace: Please respect the land and the landowner. It's important that you bring all your trash with you—pack it in, pack it out. Leave no trace and respect the natural surroundings.
- Fire Safety: Fires only allowed in designated fire pits. Small propane grills permitted.
- No Glass: Glass containers are prohibited.
- Do not leave valuables in your tent. Please keep your vehicle locked at all times. Overnight security will be present to help monitor the grounds; however, the festival is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
No Pets:
- No pets allowed at the festival or in the camping area.
No On-Site Camping for General Daytime Ticket Holders:
There is no on-site camping available for general festival daytime ticket holders. However, there are several campgrounds in the area and local hotels for your convenience.
Registered Campers Only:
Only registered campers with passes are allowed in the camping area.
Anyone without a registered camping pass will be asked to leave the festival after A Night in Valhalla past midnight on Saturday.
Festival Code of Conduct:
The Great Northern Viking Festival is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all staff, volunteers, and guests. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any hate-related iconography or behavior. Discrimination, prejudiced conduct, or harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited by the festival and its producer, Northern Woman Productions.
Enforcement:
Failure to follow festival rules may result in being escorted off the property without a refund.
